LIONS FACING CRUNCH CLASH

PAWEL Przedpelski will miss Leicester's survival play-off with Sheffield - but the Lions haven't ruled out linking up with him again.

Polish sensation Przedpelski raced to a semi-final spot in Saturday's Torun FIM Speedway Grand Prix of Poland - but he is unavailable on Monday and Wednesday as the Watling JCB Lions fight for their Premiership status with Sheffield.

The first leg is at Owlerton with the return at Beaumont Park on Wednesday with a bumper crowd expected.

And with Josh Bates and Lasse Bjerre already ruled out it leaves Danny King, Kim Nilsson, Kyle Newman and Erik Riss leading the charge for Jim Lynch's men.

Lions co-promoter Marc Bates said: "Whilst we are disappointed about Pawel, we have to focus on the task in hand.

"We were delighted to bring him to Leicester and I would welcome the opportunity to work with him again.

"I know he was very impressed by the welcome he received at the club and I hope we can welcome him back in the future."
Lewis Kerr and Cameron Heeps come in as replacements and the rider replacement facility will operate for Przedpelski.

"We are depleted, but we have a team that can beat Sheffield," said Bates.

"We've had some good crowds at Leicester this year and I hope we do all enough at Sheffield on Monday to get plenty in on Wednesday. We are going to need every Leicester fan in good voice for that."

SHEFFIELD: Scott Nicholls, Todd Kurtz, Lasse Bjerre, Josh Bates, Kyle Howarth, Jan Graversen, Georgie Wood.

LEICESTER: Kim Nilsson, Lewis Kerr, Pawel Przedpelski, Erik Riss, Danny King, Cameron Heeps, Kyle Newman.
